What is Pétanque?
Petanque is a sport which falls into the category of boule sports. Petanque is a great game and can be played by all on many levels. It is a non discriminating sport and can be played in your garden, socially, local leagues, nationally and internationally. It is one of the few games that men and women of all ages and abilities play against each other. In petanque the objective is to score points by having boules closer to the coche (cochonnet) than your opponents, after all the boules have been thrown. There are many friendly clubs around the local area as well as nationally where you can get to play petanque. Within Chiltern region there are two main leagues (Three shires and Pennant) which play through-out the summer months, and some of the brave ones through the winter too.
